This year Christmas was unusual. The original plan was for my family to have the Christmas festivities at my sister’s new place but, due to some personal developments the family get together was moved to my place. You can guess the change sent me into frenzy. We would keep everything they way my sister planned just move it to my place. To some that may sound great but we do the holiday differently? I am more formal and she is more casual. Problem number 2: how do you squeeze 7 people into a table that seats 6? I thought of purchesing a new dinner table but the ones that were in my price range were not my style and of course the one’s I loved were way above my budget.
The solution was to change some of the plans, they (my family) wouldn’t know about a few formal touches thrown in and two just squeeze another person at the table and eat buffet style. So everything looked great right. Wrong!!!.
My dad got admitted to the hospital two weeks before Christmas for heart surgery. He was having test done on his kidneys using dye and the dye indicated his heart was blocked, about 78%. So they checked him in and my younger sister who lives out of the state came home early to be here. All is well now, he is home and well, to be honest it was a blessing that they found out about his heart this way. It could have be a lot worse. He now has to see another doctor and make a few lifestyle changes to make sure that he’s here for a little longer. Again interesting Christmas this year!
Well here are a few photos of my Christmas décor’ before the chaos. Everyone crashed at my place so my dream Christmas was anything but a dream, but I am blessed because I have my family & my health. Enjoy the photos.
